The “Entrudo Enduro” is the first venue of the 2016 Madeira Enduro series organized on the 20th and 21st of February by Freeride Madeira.

The race will take place on the finest trails between the central massive (1860m) and the Peninsula of São Lourenço (Sea level/ Far East), covering both, the South and North East of the Island where a big variety of ancient Footpaths and purposely build MTB tracks will lead to the beach of Machico City passing through Eucalyptus forest and our indigenous Tropical humid “Laurissilva” Forest classified by UNESCO as Natural World Heritage.

  • The first Liaisons Stage will warm up the riders and inspire them for the first stage with dramatic views other deep valleys.
  • Stages will vary from 1 to 5km and in total 4 special stages will take part on each day.
  • On the first stages before entering the tree line the ocean will be constantly on the background and the target to achieve on the end of the day.
  • Dropping down to the South, the slopes are more gentle allowing trails to be super flowy.
  • While 30min after riders will be dropping into a tropical forest down North where the terrain is normally more humid, rocky and steeper!
  • The steep mountains of Madeira create various microclimates, meaning changing from South to North riders can have a mixture of dusty and wet trails!

On the 2015 edition some well known foreign riders like Steffi Marth(GER), Maxi Dickerhoff (GER) and Pat Cambell-Jenner(UK) chose this race for some of season training and this year we already have confirmed the presences of top EWS Teams and some legends of the Sport.

Dropping per day other 2000hm the final liaison stages will be like an adventure in Jurassic Park along beautiful sea cliffs. The magic of the race only ends by the Atlantic with ancient footpath recovered for mountain biking, leading right to sea level at Machico City where the discoverers of the island arrived in 1419.
