Marin strengthens its lineup for 2017 with the addition of an all new trail bike that hit the shelves at around € 1,300 (£ 1,100); the Hawk Hill. This is placed next to the tried and tested Mount Vision as an affordable option, get the lowdown on the Marin Hawk Hill below:

On the mountain side, the big news is the debut of the Hawk Hill trail bike. This model, built around 27.5” wheels and a butted and hydroformed Series 3 aluminium chassis, delivers 120 mm of rear wheel travel using a new MultiTrac suspension system. While MultiTrac offers similar performance to Marin’s award-winning IsoTrac system, the platform utilizes more traditional manufacturing methods.

“The drive to create the Hawk Hill came from a clear need to create a bike that was lust worthy and exciting but did not cost a fortune. When you look at the market there are a large number of great bikes above the 3K mark but not a heap of good options down in the 1,500-2,000 dollar range. Sure there are good bikes at this range, but no one that gives you everything the Hawk Hill brings to the table; things like modern trail geo’s, 1×10 wide range gearing, solid suspension spec and kinematics, short stems, and wide bars (and rims!).” Matthew Cipes, Marin Bikes Designer
