Race Report: Montenbaik Enduro Valdivia 2014
A comfortable victory, and with a special flavor, the current Chilean champion Nicolas Prudencio, won the 6th round of the “Santa Cruz Montenbaik Enduro 2014” National Championship, which attracted 400 riders to the beautiful landscapes of the Los Rios Region.
On his return to competition after an injury in the last EWS in Finale Ligure that kept him out for a month, Team Giant rider won the stage without any problems.
“After a month without being able to ride I jumped on the bike just a day before the competition, and I won!!! I couldn’t ask for more! Thank you all for the support, passed. Impossible to be happier, “ says Prudencio, 22 years old, who took the first place in the Elite division and also in the Enduro 1 series confirmed that he is the man to beat this season. On second place arrived Pedro Ferreira (Commencal / Extremezone by SIS), that finished with a time of 35: 30.13; third Milciades Jaque (Mountain Works) with 35: 48.17, in fourth the Junior Pedro Burns (KTM) 35: 52.72 and fifth Roland Jan Spaarwater (KTM) 36: 26.47.
In Enduro 2, the winner of this sixth round of the season was Jorge Verdugo, who won the two days of the race on the Promo division, with a time of 25: 36.59, ahead of Siguer Otsu (KTM) with 26: 56.84 and Diego Espinoza, 28: 08.18.
Further back Jose Perez was placed with 28: 10.86 and Leonardo Antecao with 28: 11.55.
In Elite Women, Florencia Espiñeira won on both days adding a time of (47: 29.79), ahead of Elisa ‘Chichi’ Garcia, from team Giant (53: 07.50) and in third position arrive Veronica Miranda from Mountain Works (63: 45.25).
In the Enduro 3 series, which brings together the Ladies Light division, unbeaten winner was Antonia Wurth, Cooper-Pivot (31: 32.53), escorted by Macarena Diaz (34: 34.18) and Laura Sosa, Mountain Works (38: 33.17).
Other winners, by division were: in Expert, Francisco Uribe (Just Bikes); in Master A, Alejandro Paz; in Master B, Claus Plaut (Giant); Promo Master A, César Vásquez; Promo Master B, Cristian Saavedra; Promo Master C, Alejandro Espinoza, and in HardTail, Danilo Poveda.
