The heavy rains of the proceeding days building up to the 2nd MTB Enduro in Cocañín meant that the race would be run in tough conditions. Undeterred, racers turned up from all over the country to try and win the prestigious champion of Asturias 2013 MTB Enduro title.

The contest was still wide open with many favorites who could take the win, including the Basque Markel Uriarte, Cantabrian Asturian Ismael Esteban and Jesus Blanco Coto, who this year finished second overall in the Open EnduroAstur 2013.

After a hard morning of biking, the general scratch was led by Jesus Coto Blanco, Luis Pozueco was in second just twenty-six seconds behind and Ismael Esteban was in third just thirty-four seconds off the pace.

In the end, Jose Maria Alluntis ( PRO ), Luis Pozueco ( Master 30 ), Jesus Coto Blanco (Master 40) and Covadonga González ( Ladies ) were handed the gold medals. The celebrations crowned a great event full of pure excitement, great attendance and fierce day of competition! The 2nd Enduro Cocañín is the last event in the season of enduro in the region. Everyone is looking forward to 2014!
