If you’ve already read the latest ENDURO issue or the Back to Racing article on our website, you’ll probably know that we have our roots in downhill racing and that the MAG41 Racing Team used to be one of the most successful German downhill teams. To celebrate our 10th anniversary in great style, we decided to return to our roots and jump back between the tapes for one more racing season gathering some of our team members to form an official racing team. With the equipment of our dreams and the setup of a real factory team, we were ready to kick off this exciting journey at the IXS Downhill Cup in Bad Tabarz – until fate decided otherwise. And that’s where you enter the stage!
Last weekend, the organisers of the iXS Downhill-Cup in Bad Tabarz announced that they were forced to postpone the event due the elevated risk of forest fires – and that’s exactly when our plan started to fall apart. While we’re always up for party laps and good times, we’re also on a tight production schedule with our magazines and always on the move to provide you with the coolest stories. As a result, when the event was postponed from early August to the weekend of the 2nd to 4th of September 2022, some of us had to step back due to previous commitments. One of the people we’re talking about is Robin, ENDURO founder and former team manager of the 41 Racing Team, who will be in the USA on those days and will therefore be unable to compete in the Bad Tabarz race. That sucks, right? Yes, for Robin it does! On the other hand, it’s a great opportunity for one of our readers to live a once in a lifetime experience and fulfill a unique dream.
