Eurobike 2015 | Sealskinz MTB Specific Kit
Around the world cyclists everywhere battle the elements in pursuit of their passion. When the call comes to ride and the incessant itch to get out on the bike can no longer be suppressed, bikers will go out – whatever the weather! The consequence being that riders need a multitude of clothing and kit to keep the elements out when Mother Nature shows her wild side. Sealskinz, a company recognised for their waterproof performance wear, are at Eurobike this year with an offering specifically for the MTB’ers.
New for 2016 Sealskinz have created the Dragon Eye Trail gloves, a lightweight, flexible, single layer glove which are also touchscreen friendly. The gloves feature silicone print on braking fingers for grip and look to be hardwearing with added protection for the top of the hand.
The gloves also come in a waterproof version for the days where the rain just won’t let up. These gloves are slightly thicker and warmer than the trail version, perfect for colder rides. The interesting feature here is the way the layers of the glove are bonded together rather than stitched meaning there is no way for the water to make its way inside. The non waterproof Dragon Eye Trail gloves will cost £38 and the waterproof version will be £45.
More news from Sealskinz comes in the form of the Hydrostop technology – an elastic tape fitted to the inside of the cuff of their waterproof socks. This tape ensures a seal is formed, creating a barrier and preventing water from running down the leg and into the sock.
Living in the northern hemisphere, there is no doubt as Sealskinz launch these new products to market in Spring/Summer 2016 we will be very much in need of them to protect us from the elements and keep us comfortable on the bike for longer!
