Sex sells, it’s a fact! If the response from the Eurobike crowd was anything to go by, it’s unlikely that EVIL will have any problems selling their new Insurgent 27.5. Many were getting excited by the bright yellow model, but we thought that the murdered out black version was pure sex, and needed to check it out!

Dripping with carbon porn, the new Insurgent 27.5 looks aggressive and mean, rocking 151mm of travel from the DELTA link suspension. It looks complicated, but the Dave Weagle inspired link boasts a number of really cool features. Using the smaller link in the DELTA has allowed a dual leverage ratio to be built into the suspension curve and the bike also features flip chips allowing you to slam the bike even lower if needed. With the bike in LOW the numbers are aggressive, 65.6 degrees at the head angle, 346 BB height and 430 mm chainstays. Dropping into Very LOW slam’s and lengthens the bike to 64.8 degrees and 334 mm BB height with a 432 mm chainstay. The top tube reach of 455mm in the size Large should provide a roomy cockpit. So on paper the insurgent looks like a fire spitting beast of a bike, we cannot wait to get one of test. Prices are expected to be in the region of €3299 for the frame, with builds available from between €5000 – €6500 depending on spec.

The bike comes with a flip chip geometry adjustment. Low or very low, 65.6 to 64.8 on the head angle and 346mm to 334mm on the bottom bracket
