A croissant here, a salad there, possibly squeezing in a sugar-filled protein shake post-ride in hope it’ll relieve those nasty aches and pains, then twinning it with riding every other day without any real routine. Seem familiar? Well, to Andrew it does, as sitting across the office from us he’s fiendishly tucking into an assortment of chocolate and blueberry muffins… Admittedly when it comes to riding, most of us just eat what we can, train hard and hope for the best.

Coming from a rugby playing background, Andrew has been subject to a huge number of training programs and unfortunately, a lot more have been bad than good, with a majority being incredibly vague. Upon first impressions the training program seems pretty legit, aiming at the fundamentals of enduro mtb training and incorporating Dee’s experience with what you actually need to be a good rider, rather than just packing on muscle here, there and everywhere and hoping for the best. I guess the only real way to review how good a program like this is, you have to try it…up you step young man.

Dee Tidwell, owner of enduromtbtraining, is a testament to his training program, being in excellent physical condition.

All programmes come complete with nutrition plan, flexibility plan and strength exercises
Core conditioning is the key to a stable rider, of which Dee believes hugely, putting a large focus on core stability.

The difference separating the average joe racer and the pro’s isn’t just balls of steel and technical ability. It’s dedication, sticking to a strict diet and following training plans to the letter. Is Andrew dedicated enough to take it to the next level?

Enduro MTB Training, owned and run by Enduro racer and fitness enthusiast Dee Tidwell, is the first and only Enduro specific training company, offering the most in-depth training and nutrition plans around. With over 23 years of experience, coaching Pro DH, Motocross racers, Olympic athletes and PGA tour players, we’re pretty sure Dee knows what he’s doing.

Complete with step-by-step illustrated plans, a vast range of programs are available. Starting with test-screenings to compile your goals and stats, assessing where you are compared to where you would ideally be, then moving onto the proper stuff.

Costing $49.00, it’s astounding that all programs come complete with nutrition plan, flexibility plan and strength exercise.

Andrew will start the 90 day program in the coming days and at the end, compare his body composition, fitness and riding times to before. All we can say is…good luck.
