Alpinestars have really stepped up their game when it comes to trail riding gear, releasing a number of ranges that blend sharp looks with very comfortable materials. Gone is the shapeless and baggy DH fit, replaced by a more tailored slim fitting style that we all love. We take a quick look at their new €59.95 Mesa LS jersey and €119.95 Pathfinder Shorts.

The new Pathfinder shorts come with a comfortable detachable liner, secured by press studs. The shorts are stretchy, lightweight with plenty of length to avoid the dreaded gap above knee pads. Venting is good with two large mesh panels on the rear and the fit can be adjusted with two velcro waist band adjusters. Two deep hip pockets and a more secure zippered pocket on the thigh completes the features.

The Mesa LS Jersey is made from a light and comfortable fabric and features a small secret pocket in the hem, perfect for a credit card for ‘after ride’ snacks, or a lift pass if you live somewhere awesome. There is also a goggle/glasses wipe sewn into the hem to keep you glasses clean. Large mesh panels on the back of the jersey help to shed the heat on warm days.

We love the tailored fit of the new Alpinestars line and find the soft, stretchy materials perfect for when you want to get loose on the trails. Blending sharp looks, distinctive colours and clever features – what’s not to like?
