First Look | Colourful Mud Protection from Rie:sel Design
As soon as the snow melts the trails become as sea of sticky, greasy muck. And swirled up by your tyres it lands exactly where you want it least. Marshguards have been a popular way to help protect fork seals and keep your glasses free for some time and are a common sight on the trails. But if you wanted to stand out from the masses and prefer a more individual, colourful or lively design until now you went empty handed.
The young Dresden start-up Rie:sel Design changes that. With their own fenders schlamm:PE, kol:oss and di:cker their individual design styles from classical to poppy the cater for every taste. Further sizes and variants allow closer tuning to riding style and and bike.
The schlamm:PE fender is available in 9 different versions from gaudy “Stickerbomb” and the crazy “Mustache” Design to the minimalist “Stealth” for €9.95. The plastic fenders are made in Germany using a complex manufacturing process.
Alongside the normal schlamm:PE fenders the extra wide kol:oss retails for €10.95 and the Fatbike-specific dic:ker is offered for €12.95. The increased format offers increased protection from flying muck perfect for Fat Bikes which are ridden a lot over muddy winter trails.
In addition to the classic fenders, a saddle rail mounted mudguard rit:ze is available in 11 different designs for €9.95.
