If you followed the Enduro World Series last year, you cannot have missed the exciting story of Jamie Nicoll, the self funded privateer racer who came from nowhere to take 3rd at Winterpark, all without the support of a headline sponsor or team! At the end of the season, every brand wanted Jamie on their start list, and in the end he signed with Hutchinson UR. For the 2014 season his enduro race weapon will be the all new Colossus N9, featuring a burly looking full carbon monocoque mainframe that weights in at a sensible 3.14kg and features 160 millimeters of travel, 27.5″ wheels and a 66.3 degree head angle.

The bike uses a new FS3 suspension platform, which is basically a reworking of a floating pivot design, giving the required 160mm travel for a bike aimed at the most aggressive EWS race stages. With the floating pivot design the suspension action is separated from the chain and braking forces, helping maintain traction and control when things are getting dicey. The 27.5inch bike uses 431mm chainstays and 12mm E-thru axle to keep the rear end agile and precise.

With a MSRP $5799.00, the bike is sure to be a popular machine on the circuit, and you will only have a week to wait to see how it performs in the first round of the EWS, Jamie is sure to be pinned! Look out for our full test soon!
