First Look | Solid Magix Team Replica 2016
Swabian engineering skills meet French high-tech suspension: what sounds like a dream combination is now reality. The entire know-how gained from the cooperation of the shock manufacturer BOS with the framemaker Solid at Downhill-Worldcup level has trickled down to the proven Solid Magix Enduro model. A special team replica version will form the top of the Magix product range from the end of the year.
The consumer direct brand Solid Bikes already won us over last year with their first 27.5″-Enduro the Magix. Now the Swabians present their new 2016 top model featuring everything that their World Cup downhill team enjoy. Exclusive BOS suspension parts round off the high-end package and provide 175mm rear travel and an additional 10mm stroke at the front. This slackens the head angle a further half degree to an aggressive 65°. Thus equipped the long travel bike should be man enough to take on the hardest and roughest tracks.
Along with the exclusive suspension parts the Magix Team Replica uses numerous components from the In-house brand Reverse. For example the wheels and short/wide cockpit. In order to save some weight and provide maximum trail confidence Solid chose a 750 mm wide carbon fibre bar. The functional and economic SRAM X-1 drivetrain ensures full shifting satisfaction. The proven RockShox Reverb Stealth post provides plenty of adjustment range. The aesthetically pleasing aluminium frame is also completely kept in stealth-look with a matt black powder coat finish giving an overall elegant appearance.
The bike presented here is currently receiving some fine-tuning in the suspension set-up before Solid make it available for sale at the end of the year.
