First Look: The 2015 Whyte T-130 Works SCR Trailbike
UK designed bikes Whyte have recently unveiled this little beauty, the T-130 SCR Works fresh for 2015 to add to their range. This bike, on display at this weekend’s UK Bike show looks the part and seems to us to be good value for money at 2999GBP.
The Whyte team really have made a mark for themselves this year with a top 5 UKGE finish in Juniors for Pete Lloyd and an amazing 2nd Elite (UKGE) for Martyn Brookes plus a 5th (Mega Avalanche) and 4th (Trans Savoir) upon his Works 160.These bikes are really starting to prove their worth.
This 130mm travel 650b bike has been designed with 1×11 in mind, single ring only, symmetrical chain-stays make it stiffer, plus with a full-length pivot bearing the bearing life is now extended and the suspension performance improved. The pivot bearings now come with an amazing lifetime warranty.
The components on this bike for the money are very impressive, it comes very well kitted out by SRAM, with Pike Forks, Debonair shock, SRAM Roam wheels, X1 drive-train and the new Guide brakes.
Whyte have several of their own components too, in the form of their saddle, 750mm 15mm rise bar, 60mm stem and lock-on grips.
The weight of this bike is bang on the money too at 28.6 lbs (13 kg) It comes with decent Maxxis Ardent trail tyres and the specs (for a medium) are
- 67.5 head angle
- 73.5 seat tube angle
- 331mm BB height
- 766mm stand-over height
- 594mm top tube length
- 1132mm wheel-base
