If there was an award for the most simple, but also effective demonstration of a new technology, then the winner would surely be Shred, with their NOSHOCK foam. Shred had a range of impact absorbing materials from rival manufacturers arranged on their booth, and encouraged visitors to drop a ball-bearing onto the foams from different heights. Foams that could absorb forces would show limited bounce, and after visitors had tested rival products they brought out their new Honeycomb foam, NOSHOCK. From impressive heights the ball bearing would stop dead, without a bounce!

Shreds philosophy is to produce gear with high levels of safety that also looks cool and fresh. The SHORT STACK helmet is Shred’s trail helmet, and incorporates the new NOSHOCK foam in crucial areas. The SLYTECH NOSHOCK™ Honeycomb Cone Structure claims new levels of safety and the helmet exceeds the highest of CPSC cycling safety EN1078 standards.

The idea behind the SHRED NOSHOCK™ patented technology is that it features Honeycomb Cone Structure made from SLYTECH 2nd SKiN™ XT. This structure is co-injected with a toughened EPS foam liner to provide a high structural strength, which dissipates impact forces multi-directionally to spread the impact of the force laterally, and limits the transference through the helmet to your head.
