X-Bionic Stand

X-Bionic, the manufacturers of high-end athletic clothing always put on a good stand. The market must be good at the moment as this year they brought in a Lamborghini. We have no idea why they brought it to a bike show, or indeed even how they got it inside the hall, but we like their style.

Devinci Django 29

French physician Nostradamus famously predicted the end of the world in 2012, surprisingly he also predicted that 2017 would be the year of the 29er. Looking at the Devinci Django 29, it looks like he got one thing right. With 120 mm of travel, a 68-degree head angle and compact chainstays, the Django is designed to be a trail slayer. This is the first time we have seen one in the flesh, and have to admit it’s one handsome devil. With prices from €3099 for the aluminium version to €6800 for the top of the line carbon model, there’s a model to suit most budgets.

SQ Lab Ergo Wave Saddles

Did you know that most of us have one leg that’s slightly shorter than the other, and amazingly, exactly the same number have one leg slightly longer! The SQ Lab Ergo Wave saddle with Active tilt motion seats aims to correct any imbalance with their ingenious rocking motion and integrated bumper which allows a small amount of side-to-side movement, mimicking the pelvis’s natural movement, and minimising seizure of spinal movement. It’s rare we see an advance in seats, but we have been testing the Ergo Wave and it’s amazing, winning a Design & Innovation Award 2017. If you suffer from back or muscle issues when pedalling, this may be the saddle for you. The seat is available with a range of rail options for most budgets and costs from £135.

DexShell Waterproof Socks.

A pair of waterproof socks is as essential to the winter rider as gloves and a pump. However, unfortunately, most waterproof socks are about as comfortable as wrapping your feet in freezer bags. We have to admit to being blown away by the softness of the DexShell Ultra Thin waterproof socks. DexShell are quite new to the sector and use a UK made membrane which is both stretchy and incredibly thin, resulting in a sock that’s far more comfortable than the obvious direct competition. Priced at only £19.99 they are not a bad deal for those who keep it dirty all year round.
