The 1st Ischgl Overmountain Challenge from September 13 to 15, 2013, is held in search for Europe’s fastest Enduro riders and will be the test run for the first official UEC European Enduro Championships next year. Top-stars such as the current leader of the Enduro World Series, Jérôme Clementz, from France, Manuel Ducci (ITA) and Nico Lau (FRA) will come to Austria in two weeks’ time to get a first feel for the terrain.

In 2014 the fastest Enduro riders on the continent will be determined during the European Enduro Championships, confirms Ischgl Overmountain-organizer Georgy Grogger talks with the Continental Cycling Federation: “We had a meeting with an UEC official last week. The UEC is very open to Enduro and we are looking forward to reach an agreement.”

Ischgl

Ischgl, and especially the trails on both sides of the Austrian and Swiss boarder fit perfectly for the Enduro race format at international standards. This year’s race, the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge, is a great opportunity to learn about the terrain. Some big names have already confirmed their participation. “I’ve never been to Ischgl, but I hear it’s a paradise for bikers – high mountains, great trails and a picturesque scenery. I am already looking forward the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge and getting to know the place,” says French Enduro-specialist Jérôme Clementz.
