It’s pretty hard to get overly excited about a grip, but when Hope, the English phenomenon behind some seriously ground-breaking bits of kit, kept Trevor’s hands on the bars for over 1000km, we had to write about them.

Super slim 30mm diameter and the neat CNC’s integrated locking rings, meaning you can slide your hands right to the ends of the bars, extenuated the thought process behind Hope’s engineering in all aspects. Even the raises at the ends are just enough to provide a bit of grip security it things should get a bit too…wild.

Holding strong in all aspects, for $ you're really getting your moneys worth. Trev will be replacing these with another pair soon enough.

With all mountain biking parts – white seems like a good idea at first. The clear grips looked really cool when Trevor fitted them, but his gloves started to dye them purple, and no amount of scrubbing will bring them back. Well, it’s a very clever indicator from Hope to show who actually rides their bike enough…</p

A few gauges and tears were the result of getting a bit too familiar with trees, but who’d expect grips to be able to handle that? Apart from those, the Hope Lock-On Grips are deeming durable and still remain nice and sticky. It’s safe to say that when they finally wear out, Trevor will be fitting another set in their place.
