Specifications of the Commencal Meta AM 4.2
Wheels
Commencal chose 3 suppliers for the rims of our META AM V4.2 range – WTB, Mavic and Spank. The expertise and seriousness of these three industry favourites is well established. The Origin and Ride builds are equipped with WTB I25 (internal width of 25mm).

The Mavic 427 rims are on the Essential, Race and Race Eagle. Their interior width has many advantages (27mm between rim walls), like increased air volume with a larger air chamber for more stability and comfort without loss of accuracy. The performance is unspoilt.
All these wheels are fitted with spokes made from High-Grade Stainless Steel and with a surface treatment that eliminates squeaking. In addition, all spoke nipples are fixed with lock tight sealant (Nyloc). The range is 2 mm for more strength.
For this 2017 range Commencal chose Formula Hubs for excellence in their field. Ultra precise manufacturing processes have been used for the bearing housing (longer life, better performance) and there is a free hub body that does not stand out from the cassette.
The META AM V4 WORLD CUP is mounted with complete SPANK Oozy TRAIL 345 wheels. They are assembled by hand with triple butted spokes (2.2mm/1.8mm/2.0mm) and have 30mm between rim walls.
Ride Alpha Components
Commencals are supposed to be beautiful and well crafted – fulfilling the expectations of the manufacturer. The META AM V4.2 Range has a new cockpit and RIDE APLHA grips.
Grips:
A specially shaped frame of the grip at pressure zones is supposed to increase the thickness of rubber and thus increase comfort. Ergonomic design and graphics are made to maximise comfort and grip. Lock on specific laser engraving is supposed to ensure precise adjustment.
Handlebars:
Bars are sand blasted in specific areas (clamp, grip, stem), which optimises torque. A brushed finish on the rest of the bars matches the rest of the components.
