Santa Cruz and Sweet Protection have joined forces to sponsor the UK’s first Enduro World Series race taking place at TweedLove cycling festival this summer.

With 600 riders tackling some of the UK’s finest singletrack over two days, the event will be one of the largest mountain bike races ever staged in the country. It is the flagship event of this year’s TweedLove, an annual fortnight long cycling festival that has grown to be the UK’s largest.

Neil Dalgleish, Director of TweedLove said: “We couldn’t be happier to have both Santa Cruz and Sweet Protection on board. Both brands represent the very best of the bike industry and we look forward to working with them to create the best enduro race ever held in this country.”

And Gregor Brearley of Sweet Protection is also excited about the event.

“Sweet Protection is absolutely delighted to be involved with Tweedlove 2014 and the Enduro World Series event being hosted in the Tweed Valley, together with Santa Cruz.

“I’ve watched TweedLove grow over the past few years and believe it to be the best festival of biking in the UK. There is no doubt it’s going to be an amazing couple of weeks.”

Dickon Hepworth of Santa Cruz added: “Santa Cruz are delighted to be supporting the inaugural UK based Enduro World Series event, especially as it is based in the Scottish Borders which offer some of the most varied and challenging mountain bike terrain in the country. This event is huge, not just for the area, but for mountain biking in the UK as a whole and we are proud to be a part of that.”

Team and priority entries open on 10 February, while open (public) entries begin on 19 February. The event will feature an extensive bike industry expo with all the major teams in attendance. The event village will be located in the centre of the Scottish Borders town of Peebles, bringing all the buzz and atmosphere that only comes with an international event of this scale.
