Specialized 2015: New Bikes, Clothing and Parts

In recent weeks, Specialized have already presented some very interesting products, these included, among to other things, the new wide Roval Traverse SL wheels as well as the 2FO shoes and the new Enduro 650B. However, in Leogang there were many more interesting products to admire. We show here, some more news from the Americans.

Specialized have now removed 26″ wheels almost completely out of their range. Besides the Enduro 650B and the new Lady Bikes the biggest improvements this year are found in the lower price segment. Besides the newly introduced hardtail Series Pitch, the Rockhopper series has also been completely revised and now offers with the Rockhopper PRO EVO 650B an interesting trail hardtail for the price of €1,199.

Specialized Rochhopper PRO EVO 650B

The Rockhopper PRO EVO 650B comes with grippy tires, a dropper seatpost, solid parts and some nice details (down tube protection). It should weigh about 14kg and is available from the dealer for a price of €1,199 .

Specialized Fatboy PRO

Fatbikes are very trendy, Specialized recognized this last year and presented the Fatboy. For 2015, the bike will now be available in a deluxe build with a RockShox Bluto fork for a price of €3,599.

Specialized Enduro 650B

When it comes to the new Specialized Enduro 650B we have already posted the details. The new 650B Enduro with extremely short chainstays is available in five Versions from €2,799 to €7,999. All models are equipped (because of the short chainstays) with only one chainring in front. The cheapest bikes comes with 1×10, while models including and above the Elite variant feature a 1×11 drivetrain and the Double Barrel Inline shock installed.

Specialized Boomslang Flat Pedals

Sam Hill worked with Specialized to develop the new Boomslang pedals. Now, some years later, the pedals are finally available. The flat pedal (10mm in the center) with a size of 110 x 108mm are available at a price of €129.90. In the pedal body itself 4 spare pins are integrated. A final weight is not yet known to us, but will probably be around 400g.

Specialized Body Geometry GRAIL Long Gloves

Together with Dr. Kyle Bickel M.D. Specialized has developed the new GRAIL gloves. Thanks to its gel pads in the middle of the palm, these gloves are designed to prevent numbness in the hands effectively. They are available in four colors at a price of €39.90.

Specialized 2FO Shoes

We have already published an article about the new Specialized 2FO shoes. The shoes are available in two versions (Clip and Flat Pedal). Thanks to a well-ventilated upper the shoes are designed to ensure a comfortable fit. The 4mm longer cleat rail allows the mounting of the cleats further back. In addition, the inner material is designed to absorb very little water, so that the shoe stays nice and light even in the rain. The price of the clip version is €139.90, the shoe for flat-pedal costs €119.90.

Specialized SWAT Bib Short

Just last year Specialized presented the SWAT BIB Short. Now the successful pants receive their first major update. The main new feature is an inside water resistant pocket for the smartphone as well as some changes to the fit.

Uns hat bereits die alte SWAT Hose voll und ganz überzeugt und dennoch hat es Specialized geschafft die Hose noch weiter zu verbessern. — We were already convinced by the old SWAT pants but Specialized have managed to improve pants even further.

Specialized ATLAS Kneeguards

Also to be seen in Leogang was some new light kneepads. Which look pretty light and well ventilated. Unfortunately we don’t have any more detailed information about the Protector at the moment.

Der leichte Knieschoner wirkt äußerst luftig und sollte daher auch für die schnelle Feierabendrunde bestens geeignet sein. Gumminoppen im Inneren sollen einen festen Sitz garantieren. — The thin knee pad looks very airy and should therefore be ideally suited for an afterwork ride. Rubber nubs on the inside should ensure a tight fit.
