This year’s Andes Pacifico by Santa Cruz invited an exclusive group of 80 riders from all over the world, including the current Enduro World Champion Jerome Clementz.

The long awaited “Andes Pacifico 2014 by Santa Cruz” is coming next week!!!
From February 12th to the 15th, a select group of 80 riders will cross from the Andes range mountains to the Pacific Ocean in an extreme challenge, covering 150 km and 11,000 meters of vertical descent.

We’re only 5 days away from the start of the first edition of Pacific Andes by Santa Cruz, and riders have started to arrive in Chile, all looking forward to the unprecedented competition that will challenge them completely.

The 80 selected riders to have come from England,Ecuador, New Zealand, Mexico, Scotland, USA, Australia, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina, Venezuela, South Africa and Canada and Chile.

The entry list has several familiar names such as the current Enduro World Champion Jerome Clementz, Chilean National Champion Nico Prudencio, EWS Director Chris Ball, photographer Sven Martin, Gary Perkyn, Dave Trumpore from Vital MTB, Steve Jones from Dirt TV, Bike Magazine, and others like MTBnews.de.

The four­‐day competition will focus on the Andes and coastal range in the Metropolitan and Valparaiso region of Chile. Everyday the riders will start the liaisons on a lift or pickup truck to reach the highest points, before beginning the daily 2500 meters of vertical descent.

After several special stages per day riders will arrive in to the camps where they will have their tents already setup, complete with bathrooms, showers and good food.

The race schedule will be as follows:

  • Wednesday 12:La Parva – Nature Sanctuary between 10:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs
  • Thursday 13: Sanctuary – Chicureo between 10:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs
  • Friday 14: Caleu – Olmue – La Dormida between 10:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs
  • Saturday 15: The Canela – Puchuncavi – Maitencillo 10:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs

Just like the Montenbaik Enduro, and all other enduros around the world, The Andes Pacifico has liasons and timed special Stages, the main difference is that there is no time limit to complete the liasons.
