Kärcher OC 3

When we unpacked the 2.2 kg lightweight Kärcher OC 3, we could not shake the feeling we were bringing a knife to a gunfight, the OC 3 is tiny. With a 4 L reservoir, it is half the size of the nearest competitor and takes up almost no space in your vehicle, perfect for those with small cars. Of course this means limited run time, and the OC 3 fires through its capacity in just 2 minutes, enough to clean one bike adequately or two bikes very badly. The Kärcher OC 3 is a very slick design, the top reservoir is removable and underneath hides a coiled hose and simple spray gun. It takes seconds to deploy the spray gun which delivers a fine bladed spray which will clean down wet grime well but lacks the power to deal with dried on mud.

With practice the Kärcher OC 3 can deliver enough water to clean off the worst mud on one bike, with enough battery power to work through 10 refills on one charge. The rubber reservoir cap need a little patience to fit properly, but once on we experienced no leaks. We found that the compact dimensions of the OC 3 makes it super useful to keep in the car for different uses, cleaning shoes, bikes and dogs. The pump is linked to the trigger, so battery is only used when the trigger is pulled, with a neat LED showing when the batter is getting low. While the OC 3 cannot match the large capacity of the biggest washers in this test, it does pack a big punch for it’s size and is the king of versatility.

The Kärcher OC 3 is a highly compact, multi-use washer that offers great versatility for riders looking to quickly clean one bike before loading it into a car, those looking for longer weekends will need something with more capacity.
