With the B-Ring OVAL, BIONICON has created an innovative chainring which increases power transfer and efficiency to a new level. Thanks to the oval form, the chainring, which was conceived for 1×10 or 1×11 drivetrains, creates a virtual gear ratio supporting human biometrics. The form varies the actual gear ratio depending on crank arm position by +2 to -2 teeth. This allows the pedaling dead spot to be minimised and guarantees more constant power transfer. When the crank rotates through the sweet spot, where you have most power, a harder gear is simulated, and in the weak spot an easier one is simulated. The result is more power and a rounder, more consistent pedalling feel, apparent after a short acclimatization time. Thanks to the alternating tooth profile the chain also stays securely in place. We are impressed!
