Tracy Hannah came into this section as hot as any of the women. She may have been too hot, and resulted in a small stumble at the bottom of this chute, which ended in a sharp left turn on loose moon dust.

A bit of an unknown is Vaea Verbeeck, an outstanding downhiller. She sits in 5th, 30 seconds out of 1st. Could she pull off a huge upset and get on the podium? Maybe.

Martin Maes on the GT Sanction Pro. He said he rode “steady”, with a calm smile. I get the impression he wasn’t happy with Day 1.
