First Look: Bionicon Edison EVO incl. a great early bird offer.
The last few years have been pretty quiet from the visionary brand Bionicon from Bavaria. Now the Boys from the Tegernsee have come back with a new, very interesting bike – the Bionicon Edison EVO. The best part, besides the countless configurations, is that the customer also has the opportunity to secure a whopping €1,000 early bird discount!
Whether you want 26 “or 27.5”, 160 or 180mm travel, a single or double crown fork, with or without the Bionicon system, with the new Edison EVO the customer has total control over countless options. Everybody can now find a suitable bike for their own unique style of riding.
With the Edison EVO Bionicon succeeded first time integrating the patented geometry adjustment in a single crown fork (XFusion Metric).
Here are the possibilities of the different versions at a glance:
The equipment variations of the new Bionicon Edison EVO
In addition to the various versions of the bike there are two equipment variants available. With the Bionicon system the bike will cost either €2,900 or €3,600 depending on specification, but you can also buy just the frame set consisting of a fork, shock, handlebar, stem, headset and chain guide for €1,900 or a “naked” frame for €950.
All bikes are equipped with SRAM components (X01, X9 shifting and Guide brakes), high-quality DT Swiss wheels and a Kind Shock LEV seatpost.
The bike is also available without the Bionicon system. Where it comes with a RockShox Pike and a RockShox Monarch Plus for a price of €2,950 or €3,500 again depending on the specs.
The geometry of the Bionicon Edison EVO
The Bionicon system takes a unique approach to adjustment, when you lower the fork for climbing, the shock shuttle is extended automatically, thus a lowering of the bottom bracket is counteracted. In addition, the rear shock is now driven by a flatter articulation and so will be more supportive and neutral.
In downhill mode the slack 65.5 ° head angle should provide great performance – especially at high speeds. The chain stays are not very short 430mm (26 “) or 435mm (27.5”), but also not overly long and in combination with the relatively short reach (431mm in size. L) offer agile riding performance. In the uphill mode the seat angle is 74.5° and should help with efficiency and keeping the front wheel on the ground.
