First Look: DT Swiss FR Gravity Classic Wheelsets

The third new product the guys from DT Swiss presented us with during our visit of their headquarters in Biel are the classically constructed DT Swiss FR Gravity Classic wheelsets. In contrast to the popular spline wheel sets these wheels are based on a classic design with a three cross 32 Spoke pattern.

The wheelset with an inner width of 27.5 millimeters will be available only for 27.5 inch wheels. They use a DT Swiss patented “Ratchet System” freewheel system and are built on the high quality 240s hubs, Competition spokes and aluminum nipples from DT Swiss.

The application range of ​​the 2030 gram wheelsets is Enduro, Freeride and Downhill. The classic design with conventional parts (spokes, nipples) ensures an easy supply of spare parts wherever you are in the world.

Classic - der Name ist Programm. So verbaut DT Swiss nicht nur den Naben Klassiker 240s, sondern setzt auch auf die klassische 3fach Kreuzung der 32 Speichen.

Anders als bei den Spline Laufrädern kommt beim FR Gravity Classic keine Centerlock Bremsscheibenaufnahme zum Einsatz. Auch hier setzt man auf die klassische Aufnahme mit 6 Schrauben.
In contrast to the spline wheels, the FR Gravity Classic does not come fitted with a Center lock disc mount. Here they rely on the classic system with 6 screws to fix the disc.
Auch das für den Tubless Aufbau benötigte Ventil liegt bereits dem Lieferumfang bei.
The valve needed for the tubeless construction is supplied, as does the 11-speed cassette driver body.
