Leatt are best known as one of the leading brands of neck braces but over the past few years have branched out into a much broader gamut of bike products and accessories. Their new waterproof DBX hydration pack is testament to that, so whilst in South Tyrol we thought it’d be the perfect chance to take it out on the trails for the first time and gather out first impressions.

The DBX looks pretty cool and boasts some neat features.

We loved the X-Strap system on the F4, the DBX now has a 2nd chest strap.

After a quick lap , we found the added security of the 2nd strap to be a good addition. The bag was comfortable and didn't move around.

The DBX is fully waterproof and weather sealed with an in built level one back protector which has been independently CE tested and certified. The ‘Flat CleanTech bladder’ has a volume of 2.0L which is surrounded in heat resistant material to ensure the liquid stays cool! The bag also has another 5 liters of storage space for everything you need for a long day on the trails, including straps on the exterior to carry a full face or half shell helmet.

Leatt have spent extra time to focus on making the strap system both comfortable and secure meaning the bag should not move around or rise up your back even on the roughest of terrain, the strap also features a neat waterproof phone storage pocket which will fit an iPhone 6 but only once the case had been removed… The pack has 2 exits for the hydration tube so you can optimize it for your efficiency and comfort but it will be interesting to see how the velcro securing system holds up in muddy conditions!

The bladder can be moved around on various areas of velcro to where suits the user, it'll be interesting to see how this works in muddy conditions...

We had only a very quick tryout of the DBX, so we will reserve judgement for now and conduct a full review in the coming months.
