First Look | THE Stevens Sledge Max Enduro bike
Stevens is staying on the gas in the enduro segment and presented a new model within the Sledge series at the the Eurobike Media Days in Kirchberg: The Stevens Sledge Max.
The Stevens Sledge Max is the new top model in the enduro range of the Hamburg manufacturer. It is a re-engineered version of the well known Sledge ES and like its namesake features 160 mm suspension travel and 27.5” wheels. At the front however unlike the ES it has a 170 mm fork which combined with the downhill specific spec should improve the descending abilities of the bike.
The rear frame was also revised allowing Stevens to not only save weight but also introduce the new Boost standard (148mm rear axle) thus increasing wheel stiffness. The overall weight of the bike is 13.9 kg according to the manufacturer and the price is a fair € 3699.
The new Sledge Max will be offered in four sizes (16″-22″) with just one spec. It features a complete FOX Factory Kashima suspension system with 36 Float fork and Float X Evol rear shock and a Shimano XT drivetrain and brakes.
