First Look: ’Devinci Spartan’ a 165mm Enduro Warrior

Hidden at the back of the EWS tech area in Peebles, we chanced upon this exciting new bike from Devinci, The Spartan, a new 165mm bike offering a bigger hit capability than the current Troy. This was Damien Oton’s race bike and was fully prepped to take on day 2 of racing. With 650B wheels, the burly bike aims to hit that compromise between being able to handle the gnarliest tracks out there, and also get you to the top of the hill without blowing you out for the rest of the day! Targeted towards more aggressive applications, this bike has already put down an impressive performance in round 2 of the EWS in Scotland, taking 6th overall under Damien Oton.

With a ‘handmade in Canada’ alloy construction (featuring a carbon seatstay), and three build packages, the Spartan is available at very competitive price points. The frame has the usual lifetime warranty and is certainly attractive. Using a Weagle split pivot, the suspension is adjustable, providing two different angles of attack. A reversible chip at the rear shock mount allows both the head angle and bottom bracket heights to be adjusted. The high setting gives you a 66.4 degree/344mm combination with the low setting being 65.8/337mm.

Pricing will be very competitive, and available in three build kits.
