His friends were left totally speechless when they received a call from the bike park in the afternoon of October 3rd: Johannes Hänle, who some ENDURO readers might remember from his New Zealand trip, had a crash and couldn’t feel his legs anymore. Now his friends want to start a fundraising campaign – and you could be rewarded too!
A helicopter brought Johannes (21) to the hospital of Murnau, where the suspicion of a fracture of the spinal column was confirmed. A thoracic vertebra was broken, stabilized and returned to its original position in a complex surgery, but the severe damage of the spinal cord could not be reversed. A paralysis below the arms is the terrible consequence and the current state of Jojo’s health.
Jojo’s Road to Recovery has now begun
As long and difficult as this path may be at the moment, there is always the hope and our belief that at least a part of the senses and mobility in the upper body or even the legs will return.
We all know Johannes as a cheerful and carefree person who always strives to help others. Now he needs your help.
We are fortunate to live in a country where at least the medical costs are taken over by a health insurance. Nevertheless, in the near future Johannes and his family will face further costs, whether due to necessary changes in the housing situation or additional rehabilitation measures.
