Nukeproof Horizon CL and CS Clipless Pedals

We were impressed when we tested the new Nukeproof Horizon CL pedals over in Ireland last month, unfortunately, the smaller cage CS models were still only 3D printed samples. The new CS pedals have finally arrived and they look awesome, blending the same features as the Horizon CL pedals we tested with a more ‘trail’ sized pedal platform. The choice is yours, supersize or simply go large, we can see these being a popular upgrade on many bikes in 2017. We will bring a full review of the smaller CS pedals as soon as we get our mitts on some.

DMR V-TWIN Pedal

2017 looks to be the year of the pedal, and one of our favourites is the DMR V-Twin, winner of the Design & Innovation Award 2017. With the competition hotting up, DMR have released a brand new Magenta colourway for maximum colour matching radness. To get some of the 546 g beauties you will have to hand over £129.99, but then you can customise them to your heart’s content with a range of pins and unique nylon bumpers to perfect the fit. The V-Twins are fully Shimano SPD compatible so can get replacement cleats anywhere and deliver 5-degree float.

Hope Chain Rings

The jury is still out on oval chainrings and if they can revolutionise your pedalling, but after trying one we can confirm that they spookily feel, well, more round, than conventional round rings. Hope Technology, the UK’s CNC superstars have now released their own oval chainrings with 12 % ovality and 113-degree clocking. The rings are all made in house and are available in both 104 PCD and Spiderless in both 32 and 34 tooth options. Six colours let you colour match your ride and for only £40 – £45 they will not break the bank. Keen-eyed readers will also see a new 10 -48T cassette for £225 inc freehub.

e*Thirteen TRS+ Dropper Post

A dropper seat post is one of those things you want to fit and forget about. A good seat post will go about its simple job of going up and down without fuss, a bad seat post is more annoying than someone with a new phone choosing a ringtone. e*Thirteen understand this and their latest TRS+ post is all about reliability, featuring a simple coil sprung, fully mechanical post. No sensitive air seals, no pressure to lose. The post has 3 position (0mm – 80mm- 120mm – 150mm) and a 150 drop, all for £250. We especially love the grip tape covered ergonomic lever.
