Works Components angleset-headset review

Works Components are an engineering firm based in Cannock over in the UK, and they have been making headsets, chainrings, and bottom brackets and the like for several years now. Jim has been running one of their 1.5° angleset headsets last season on his special build Marin Attack Trail race bike and another 2° version on this year’s special build SCOTT Genius LT Tuned. The angleset on the SCOTT has slackened the head angle down to 64.8° and lengthened the wheelbase by around 20 mm. Both last year and so far this year, Jim has been very impressed with how well these headset bearings have lasted, especially with the perils of UK mud and the constant use of a jet wash!

These anglesets really can change the feel and handling of a bike, turning them more into a DH-biased attack machine than a trail bike. The headset is only available in black and comes in 1°, 1.5°, and 2°. Most cup sizes are catered for, capable of fitting any headtube and fork combination except for the integrated type. Bearings and all separate parts are available from Works Components too.
