Interbike: New 2015 Leatt Protective Gear

We talked with Leatt today at Interbike in Las Vegas. They’ve certainly been known for their neck braces for a number of years, but are expanding in a big way with second generations of protective gear. Full face helmets, riding packs and various levels of elbow and knee pads. Take a look and find some gear that might work for your next trail riding adventure, whether riding the lifts or not.

3D in-molded V- Foam, which lines the helmet, is a multi density impact foam. The V shaped structure deforms and compresses upon impact, absorbing and reducing g-forces transferred to the head. This technology has also reduced the thickness of the helmets liner while still maintaining superior protection. Reducing the helmets liner and shell size not only reduces the weight, but also reduces the momentum and rotation applied to the head and brain during impact.

Achieved by using a MoistureCool wicking sleeve and a super slim 6mm protector of impact hardening Armourgel, which make for a very light pad with exceptional mobility.For additional projection, on the right, Leatt also has several knee, elbow and knee & shin guards that use 3DF impact foam with deflecting hard shells for more gravity oriented riding.

Leatt is offering a number of riding packs this year, some of which attach directly to their own neck braces and could be exactly what you need when riding the lifts, and can refill the bladder a couple times during the day. Also features an awesome quick disconnect, so you can refill the bladder while keeping the helmet on your head.
