San Piero in Bagno, a little city in the center of Italy in Emilia Romagna that is well know for it’s beautiful mountain bike trails, held the second round of the Enduro Race (the opening round was held in March in Talamello).
On Sunday, April 28, 180 riders started for the second round of the Enduro Race. It was a record for this event on its first year, and served as a good demonstration that Enduro is growing very fast in middle Italy and this is only the beginning.
The total distance was 26 kilometers with a vertical drop of 1,100 meters. Including two special stages, the first called “Corzano”, was very physical with numerous climbd, interspersed with technical sections and a final part in the undergrowth. The second stage “Gallerie”, was very technical, fast like a downhill track, with steps that put the strain on the talent of the riders. Finishing with a very scenic part of the final stage in front of the public, who are always numerous at these events.
In this race was some of the best Italian Enduro racers were present like the FRM Factory Team with the Lupato Brothers, Alex and Danny. Nicola Casadei, Lapierre Gravity Team and Vittorio Gambirasio, Officine Red Bike and other racers that you see only at the SuperEnduro Races.
And the winner is:
- Nicola CASADEI
- Denny LUPATO
- Enrico FUCCI
- Simone FABBRI
- Alex LUPATO
Nicola Casadei took the victory in both of the stages with more than a 10 second lead over Danny Lupato in second and a good 3rd place for Enrico Fucci, a local racer who is very fast.
