At their hotly anticipated dealer event in the Netherlands, we grabbed the opportunity for a closer look at the stateside brand’s new products for 2017. Take a good scroll through all of Specialized’s latest launches and get ready to feast your eyes on a soon-to-be-released whip that hooked our attention! The new Stumpjumper has been trimmed down to a 1x drivetrain and now features the Boost rear hub standard, more travel at the front and Öhlins rear suspension on all the top-end models. And while 2017 marks the end for the 6Fattie, the 29er can now take plus-size tires.
All of the 2016 models can be upgraded to fit the Öhlins rear shock with its auto sag valve. With a frame that weighs in under 1,000 grams and boasts full Di2 integration, the Epic hardtail should blast around all of the world’s XC courses with aplomb.Going Brain-less for 2017, the Camber is reputed to deliver even more fun on the trails! The paintjob is awesome! The female Bike Rumor now also goes by the name Camber – just like the current male Pendant – and has also sacrificed the Brain.Retailing at € 1,799, the new Camber 29 Alivio is set to be a very attractive entry-level rig.Slightly heavier but a whole lot kinder on the wallet, the Ambush Comp is a new take on the Specialized Ambush and costs just € 99.Saving a ton of hassle, the new Tube Spool should simplify the task of fixing a puncture. The Specialized Blast Reservoir is designed to aid the act of going tubeless. Use a regular track pump to fill the tubeless canister and that’ll retain air for more than a day. RRP: € 59.The S-Works 6 shoes with the Boa fastener are primarily aimed at XC racers. Also with XC riders in mind, there’s the new Specialized Prevail 2 that should satisfy all demands. For those who prefer a bit more comfort with their ride then the Specialized Skitch should be a welcome addition to any wardrobe.
Ready for Rio, Specialized have brought out the limited edition Torch collection, which sees a range of custom models with heat sensitive paint. See for yourself:

The all-new Burra Burra frame bags are the ultimate fit for the Specialized Sequoia. Having hauled in specific designers for the task, Specialized have now filled the bike-packing gap in their collection. We’ll publish a review on GRAN FONDO Cycling Magazine in the very near future.
For the coming season it’s satisfying to see Specialized’s attention to detail and some minor (but brilliant) updates that they’ve applied to their now condensed collection. Aside from their eMTBs, it’s interesting to note that all their mountain bikes can come as standard with either 29″ or 27.5″ wheels, and that the 6Fattie are just an option for the future. Are we seeing a 29er revival?
However, fine-tuning and upgrading aside, Specialized wouldn’t be Specialized if they didn’t have some even bigger tricks up their sleeve: so here’s a little teaser of a new whip that we were lucky enough to test out in the deepest, darkest jungle!
