We spotted Anita Gehrig sporting the new Kestrel Lace shoes on the trails of Finale Ligure and we had to stop her for a proper look! Obviously the most significant change is that 5.10 have done away with the Boa system from the original Kestral and opted to return to the traditional lace system with the velcro strap to keep things tidy. The shoes feature a new rubber compound on the sole and 15% more flex which should make the Kestrel a better all round shoe, Anita along with Jérôme Clementz are the only 2 riders currently running these new kestrels.

Aesthetically, we think the new kestrels are a big improvement!

It looks like they have 'beefed' up the kestrel with hopefully more ankle support.

The shoes are set for release in early 2016 and will be offered alongside the traditional Kestrel. We will of course bring you further news when we have it so keep an eye on our Facebook page and website!
