The Lab | VP Components VP-Harrier

From ‘The Lab’ in Issue #016, we got together with our long term tested products and decided to write a series of short reviews for you, the reader. Aaron, our Web Director, had been testing the VP Components Harrier for the past ten months. Check out what he thought!

The VP Components Harrier pedals are an incredible catch – for around ninety euros you get amazing flat pedals with masses of grip, huge standing room, and very little weight. Over the season they proved their worth in terms of stability against big impacts and nasty cases of bottoming out. Two of the outer pins did make a gracious farewell though.
And speaking of pins, VP have done a masterful job when it comes to servicing the pedals, as the pins can be bent and swapped without damaging any threads. There’s a service kit available for around 25 € – bitterly needed now after over 2,000km, as both pedals have become vulnerable to a few millimetres of play. However, considering the strain they’ve been put under, that’s totally acceptable.
