The Sibillini Mountains in autumn offer a spectacle of rare beauty. The golden yellows, reds, ochre of oak, beech, wild cherry, elm and flowering ash, contrasted with bright green mosses and conifers. Taking the old trails is almost a privilege so they are hidden in the dense woods! Like a soft carpet, the dry leaves hide the stones and roots, it’s like skiing in deep snow! Occasionally the mountain peaks peek through the branches of the trees reminding us what austere place we are in. This is a short route like so many in a day like any other, waiting for the winter to give some other emotions …… as always here!
