Steve Parr, organiser of the UK Gravity Enduro Series informs us about some updates for 2013: After a massive 2nd year for the UK Gravity Enduro series there are changes and new sponsors. First off, my new partner is Charlie Williams, many of the Enduro racers will already know Charlie from the start or finish arena, he finished 2nd overall in the masters category.
Dates are all now up on www.ukgravityenduro.com couple of venues just need to be fully confirmed, round 1 and 5, just waiting full FC approval.
There are 2 main sponsors to let you all know about, after last year’s hopeless title sponsor, 2013 see’s Shimano and Mavic joining the growing UK enduro race scene.
A quick quote from Madison marketing:
“Shimano are delighted to continue to support the UK Gravity Enduro series in 2013. Last season saw Enduro really come into its own as a recognised discipline and no doubt this will continue in 2013 and we are excited to see what the year will bring.
The presence of the Shimano Tech Support team at last years races was an extremely popular resource for the riders and we will once again be bringing the expertise of our Shimano mechanics to the series, offering free repair to make sure every rider can make it to the start line on race day.”
Quote from Mavic marketing manager:
“Mavic is really proud to be involved with the best UK Gravity Enduro series and to be at the fore front of the market. With products like the Crossmax ST & Crossmax SX and the new Notch helmet and clothing range we have the best equipment to help you perform. We look forward to seeing you during the series.
We will be present (service & display wise) at a guaranteed 3 events this year (and more next) with those being a mix of Rounds 1, 2 & 3.”
Also onboard for 2013 is Laurence Crossman-Emms as official videographer, checkout some of his work on Pinkbike, this gives us great footage to be beamed out on the tinterweb the following Monday of the race. A really important part of the series is the category sponsors, so far on board are:
Excempt Clothing, Schwalbe tires, Juice Lubes, Whack job, One industries
There will be some great prizes throughout the year from these guys, best get training now to make sure you hit the all important top 3 of your category, as in past years we have spot prizes from Fibrax, Juice Lubes and others. All that remains is for Charlie and Me to wish you all good riding and see you on a stage in 2013.
PS – No price increase, just £60 for a full weekends riding.
