A dropper seatpost has a hard life. It’s the sort of product that we never notice when it’s working well, but should it malfunction it becomes more frustrating than the last American presidential race. Trev has been running a FOX Transfer dropper post for the last five months and has found the performance certainly matches the golden Kashima post. Installing the FOX Transfer was a revelation. Without even reading the instructions, the post was in and working within ten minutes – class leading simplicity. After bashing it round Scottish trails, Trev enthuses that the lever throw is the most ergonomic and light on the market, working well in the mud and grime. The long shifter style remote is positive and quick to operate and has shrugged off a couple of careless crashes well. The post has been 100% reliable so far, with no issues of creeping or unusual behaviour, and the action is still as effortlessly smooth as it was out of the box, Trev is still running the original cable and expects to get another winter in before changing it. Due to the design there’s a small amount of rotational play at the saddle, but as with most posts this is undetectable on the trail. The seat clamp has proven creak-free, and Trev loves the styling, which matches well with the FOX suspension he is running. He has used a lot of droppers and is happy to declare that currently, the FOX Transfer is the best on the market.
