Perhaps one of the most talked about bikes of this years show was the new Yeti SB4.5c, it was easy at first glance to dismiss this bike as another Sexy SB6c on display, but eagle eyed show-goers soon noticed the 29 inch wheels. We are big fans of the Switch Infinity suspension link, and our long term Yeti SB6c is proving an incredible bike, so we think this new 114mm SB4.5c could be one of the most exciting trail 29ers of 2016.

The new SB4.5c sports 110mm of rear travel which should provide potent performance with the bigger wheels and a geometry that is biased more towards agile trail, than raked out downhill bombing. The 67.4 degree head angle and 630 mm (in size Large) top tube should provide plenty of room to move on the bike and will be perfect when run with a super short stem.

The High Modulus Carbon SB4.5c frame weighs only 2.45kg so we expect to see some very lightweight builds available. The rear triangle has been uprated with a 12 x 148 mm Boost axle, and features a tidier axle clamp for smoother lines. You will have to have deep pockets to own this bike but we expect the ride to be equally as explosive as the SB5c and 6c. The bike will be available as a frame only option, $5599 SRAM GX build, $6899 XO1 build and top end $10,499 XTR ENVE option (we will bring € prices as soon as we have them). We look forward to getting our hands on one for a full test.
