Sweet Protection Delirious Jacket and Mudride Shorts Waterproofs

The Delirious jacket and Mudride shorts are Sweet Protection’s Winter riding solution. UK tester Tom has put them through a full year of Scottish conditions, which equals about three years use for riders in most countries! Featuring Gore-tex’s Active membrane, the Delirious jacket was expected to be super waterproof and no amount of rain or trail muck encountered penetrated its defenses. With its light face fabric the jacket is highly breathable making it versatile for dry or warm conditions too. The minimalist design means no hood, and just one phone sized chest pocket but it weighs just 270 g (size L) and packs down well. The fit is great and optimised for riding; not too baggy with a dropped back, long arms that overlap nicely with your gloves and a raised front hem to stop the jacket bunching up. After a year of being squashed in a pack, covered in mud and repeatedly washed, it’s proved durable and still looks fresh.

The Mudride shorts feature a soft and stretchy outer shell, a highly waterproof and breathable membrane, leg vents and two pockets with waterproof zips and a reinforced rear. Tom has found the durability has been solid, despite going in the washing machine every ride; the only issue was the velcro from our knee pads eroding the inside fabric. Great fit, soft feel and excellent breathability made these our go-to shorts for the whole winter, better value than cheaper shorts you’d only wear in the rain.
