Save the Date | Greenhouse pump track race in Bern, CH
After one year of time out, the Greenhouse event enters the third round. On Friday 9th and Saturday 10th January 2015, Ostermundigen near Berne will evolve into a pumptrack and bike sports Mecca. The initiator of the Greenhouse event, Adrian Kiener, himself an active racer, sets his target high and is looking forward to astonishing the spectators and athletes by something unusual. «We are going to ride in the greenhouse, which my grandfather built 80 years ago».
The third edition of the event is bringing up a duplication of the race track and the event area, in comparison to the year before. The race course leads over gardening beds, a compost and through greenhouses, which will be temporary increased by tent buildings. The track, the heart of our event is every year freshly built, especially for the race.
The cream of the crop kicks off
The stars of the scene are following the invitation of Kiener. The riders board is composed by athletes from all the various mountain bike disciplines. In 2015 for the first time the possibility exists, to apply for the qualification. About 30 athletes will battle for the 16 spots, available for the finals. Ladies in the start gate
For the first time, we set up a category for the ladies. The female quote in the mountain bike disciplines is bursting, so it’s high time to satisfy their desire.
The Greenhouse event offers for the spectators beside high tension entertainment also the possibility to become part of the action. «Gold Sprint», «Short Race» and «Track Stand» are the descriptions of the disciplines. Who doesn’t recognize any of them, no worries – they all involve a bike.
Furthermore on Saturday evening, the legendary Greenhouse party will take place in the old workroom of the market garden.
HD video coverage of the races
The event host isn’t avoiding any challenge to provide all the spectators on site, from every angle of vision, with a perfect view of the race track. This broadcast is ensured by an elaborate TV production by SPORTAL HD. Their 6 HD-cameras bring the action close to the spectators on 10 large displays.
The final on Saturday is in addition streamed live on sportalhd.com. SPORTAL HD also provides a portable studio where bike experts will analyse the races. A reporter team will interview the bikers after the races rounding off the video coverage of the races.
The race-tracks can house 1200 persons and during the race-weekend 2500 spectators are expected.
