Weapons of Choice – racers and their bikes at the EWS in Finale Ligure

Jérôme Clementz – Cannondale Jekyll

Jérôme won several multi-day stage races this year, but in his fifth EWS season he unfortunately only managed 4th in the overall ranking. All in all, a very successful season for the veteran!
In Finale, Jérôme could be seen aboard a matte black Cannondale Jekyll. For the suspension, he relies on a 170 mm RockShox Lyrik fork and a lockable Super Deluxe coil shock at the rear.
The black frame of Jérômes Bike bike paired with the golden SRAM XX1 Eagle drivetrain are an absolute eye-catcher.
At the last race of the 2017 EWS season, Jérôme’s bike had a sticker on the top tube showing all his EWS achievements. Was this a hint his departure from the EWS race circuit? We’ve got the answer in our interview with him, “A life at the top” in Issue # 031 of ENDURO Mountainbike Magazine.
This slightly hidden sticker on the bottom of the seat tube shows the stats of rider: Jérôme Clementz, from Buhl / Alsace / France, 169 cm tall, rider weight 62 kg, date of birth 31/05/1984, 33 EWS races, 1 EWS overall victory, 6 EWS race wins and his Life Goals: Ride Cannondale Bikes and Missions to Accomplish.
Jérôme locks out his rear shock with a SRAM XO grip shift lever.
He finished the race in Finale on 9th spot but came in at fourth of the much more important overall ranking of the EWS
