Syntace

Syntace have been busy revisiting two of their product lines. The Vector Carbon handlebar-line is now called the Superlight. It comes in the same cool matt-finish as the brand’s carbon wheelset and features a new and better-quality carbon fibre. This allows to shed some weight and to improve its already superb stability. As with the previous edition, the new Superlight will be available in an 8° and 12° option with 5, 10 or 20 mm rise and 780 mm width and the option of cutting the bar to size. We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the 35 mm rise version.

Syntace Superlight handlebar – lighter, with more stability and finally matt.
All previous versions will still be available to buy and come in a 780 mm width.

Also the aluminium wheelset-line has been thoroughly revised. The rims boast a new, wider profile and the numbers in the name refer to the inner width this time around. The old W30 MX becomes the W28i Straight, what was the W35MX is now the W33i Straight and the W40 MX is the W40i Straight in its new edition. “Straight” refers to the hub-type, the second update of the wheelset. Syntace now uses straight-pull spokes especially produced for them by Sapim. This way they were able to use larger, longer lasting bearings both saving on the cup-material and reducing the weight slightly. Rounding off the package are details such as the sealed bearing adjustment-nut, the steel inserts in the Shimano freewheel, the tooth-washer free-hub with 45 t instead of 36 t and the improved bearing seals. The popular C33i carbon-wheels also get a hub with straightpull-spokes as an update, the actual rims remain the same.

A new wheel generation. The rims feature an entirely redesigned profile. This time the name refers to the inner width …
… the hubs have been completely reworked and now feature straightpull-spokes.

All wheels come in 27.5” and 29” options. The W33i and C33i are also available in 26”. The price for the new wheelset is € 798, and € 1,480 for the carbon version.
