MRP Ribbon Coil
Coil is back! For many years designers worked hard to remove the metal springs from their forks, now we have gone full circle and everyone is rushing to put them back in. MRP are the latest to ‘return’ to the use of a coil with their latest Ribbon fork. Available in both 27.5” and 27.5+/29” chassis the fork boast 150 – 170 mm and 140 – 150 mm of internally adjustable travel respectively. Three different spring rates are shipped with the fork (soft, medium and firm) and for those who fall outside of the range, a extra-soft and extra-firm are available separately. With the recent heated discussions over offset, MRP will be offering the 29er version with the option of 46 mm or 51 mm offsets, all 27.5 forks will be 44 mm.
Inside the fork is MRP’s new bladder-free EssenTTial damper, which features a low pressure IFP for increased durability and a pressure relief valve. MRP have not forgotten about their legendary tunability, and each fork features their innovative Ramp Control, allowing on-the-fly adjustment of the end stroke support. Adding the coil to the fork does add 203 g to the weight of the standard MRB Ribbon fork, but in return delivers absolute consistency, perfect for continous hard laps of the bike park. The fork weighs in at 2.08 kg and comes with either a Boost QR15 axle or Boost bolt through. All MRP forks are still assembled in their Colorado factory, and receive a full dyno test before shipping. Euro pricing is still TBA, but the US RRP is $ 989.00
