SCOTT Grenade Evo

END 033 Knieschoner Test Review SCOTT Granade EVO 5 1140x760

Opting for evolution over revolution, SCOTT may well have made the right decision with the Grenade Evo–after all, its predecessor, the Grenade II, is arguably still a great knee pad. The new version comes with the fancy ‘Evo’ suffix and features a bigger mesh insert on the hollow of the knee to improve ventilation. This works fairly well, but the SCOTT is still amongst the warmest knee pads on test. Despite its massive construction, the Grenade Evo offers great comfort. The fit is good – only a few riders complained about the top strap slipping down after a while. In the lab the SCOTT scored the same rating as the Fox, placing just behind the leaders. The multiple side pads help to prevent abrasions and minor injuries. With the exception of the below-average ventilation the Grenade Evo doesn’t present any significant weaknesses and is therefore a worthy alternative to our Best In Test and Best Value title holders.
