SCOTT Trail MTN Dryo 20

The SCOTT Trail MTN Dryo 20 jacket is SCOTT’s do-anything, outdoor adventure jacket. As such we were impressed with its versatility. The minimalist 3 layer DRYOsphere fabric construction has a solid 15,000 waterproof and breathability rating (mm and g/m2 respectively) with fully taped seams and a high soft collar. The detail in the jacket is impressive with very functional adjusters in the hem and hood which allow precise tailoring of the fit. The full length underarm vents can be cracked open on hot days for huge airflow, and the zips and fixtures have held up to abuse well. We love the cavernous chest pockets and the huge hood can be cinched either over or under a helmet.

The fit is relaxed, providing space for layers for slower speed activities, but with plenty of length in the arms. During riding, the jacket was great, with plenty of room in the more relaxed multi-activity cut. Even on long rides in the rain, the waterproof membrane of the fabric held up really well, but we did experience quite a lot of moisture building up inside the jacket on hotter days, showing the limitations of the DRYOsphere fabric.

The SCOTT Trail MTN Dryo is a great multi-activity jacket that performs very well as a bike jacket. As an allrounder, it’s very impressive indeed, but it could not keep up with the breathability of the best performers.
