SKS MSP

The MSP makes a good first impression. If you take both parts of the pump out of the supplied, padded case, all you see is the shine of polished, machined metal! When disassembled it packs down very small if you don’t put it in its case, and we can’t complain about the weight either. The display of the gauge is tiny, but it is halfway readable and also relatively accurate. Unfortunately, that’s it on the positives. The pressure release valve is not easy to control despite the massive knob as the thread isn’t fine enough.

The connection between the hose and the head leaked air on our test model every time it moved. Fortunately, the USP pump uses the same hose and we were able to swap it out. Like the SAM, the high output of the MSP requires only a few strokes, but also at the expense of pumping resistance. It had the most resistance of all pumps on test. Despite its low weight, small pack size and good price, the SKS MSP looks way better than it performs. We can’t recommend it!
