Birzman Salut

The Salut is a special case. It is a very nice looking, high-quality pump, but you would expect that for the price of € 59.90, especially for an analogue pump. It is by far the smoothest pump in the test field and very pleasant to operate even at pressures above 200 psi. However, it achieves its smoothness at the cost of output since it took the most strokes in the test field. It needed even more strokes than the tiny emergency pumps we tested! Though this is still tolerable with a shock, it becomes a pain when pumping up a fork.

On top of the that, the gauge is easy to read but inaccurate, showing the most deviation in the test field. The pump does achieve a maximum pressure of 400 psi so we’d only really recommend it for riders who run very high pressures in their shock and want to be able to make adjustments without too much strain. Everyone else should stay away from this pump.
